My Favourite Looks from 2016 People’s Choice Awards

Nothing like an award ceremony to showcase some of the media’s finest talent (erm…) – both in pop culture and fashion. People’s Choice awards took place a mere few days ago and has got me lusting over the sheer works of art some of the A-listers were sporting. There was a pretty broad spectrum of ultra formal gowns and suits to two pieces and sneakers, People’s Choice is one of my favourite awards ceremonies because people seem so much more relaxed and able to be themselves a bit more. Furthermore I love seeing the more high fashion ensembles being actually worn off the catwalk, it’s great to see the way a garment moves in a real scenario (cough – Dakota Johnson – cough) and how it hangs on the bodies of different-ish shapes and sizes. Here are my favourite looks from People’s Choice 2016:

david koma

Kat Graham rocked this beautiful David Koma dress like nobody’s business. Koma is swiftly making even more of a name for himself outside of his directorship of Mugler and I couldn’t be happier with the solid gold he’s been churning out lately.

An asshole she may be, but I really liked Meghan Trainor’s tailored wrap dress from none other than Balmain. The gold pumps and bag were styled very well and while her figure looked stunning the smug look on her face just made me mad. Good outfit, shit person.

antonio berardi.jpg

Sasha Alexander made me see red in her Antonio Berardi. I’m such a sucker for geometric/angular tailoring so this was bound to make the list.

Clare Danes killed it with this feminine/sexy gown by Burberry. Her makeup is flawlessly simple and would you check out that plunging back?! Personally I just love it when a super flashy gown is put together with understated hair and makeup.

nathalie emm.jpg

Nathalie Emmanuel absolutely blew me away with her ultra cool velvet flares and see through top outfit by Zara and Miss Selfridge . I’ve loved her style ever since her debut on Hollyoaks way back when – glad to see her getting some recognition while repping the British high street.

Ellen-DeGeneres-Portia-de-Rossi-People-Choice-Awards-2016.jpg

Portia de Rossi’s all white jumpsuit dress thing by Safiyaa was incredible and she looked great next to wife, Ellen DeGeneres’ all black suit and polo neck ensemble. Both looking sharp and dressed to kill us with wit. I couldn’t find where Ellen’s suit was from – if anyone knows holla at me.

keke

Keke Palmer looked positively ravishing in her very risqué ensemble by Yousef Al-Jasmi – who is shaping up to be one of my favourite designers of late with his high detail pieces.

stella mccartney

Kate Hudson kicked major ass in this crisp, clean Stella McCartney jumpsuit, proving that dresses aren’t the only way to glam up.

kether-donohue-people-s-choice-awards-2016-02.jpg

Kether Donohue looked amazing in this black frock. That neckline just gives me chills it’s so pretty. Unsure who designed this – if anyone knows holla.

valentino

Melissa Benoit looking very sophisticated in Valentino Resort. I would wear the hell out of this.

zeynep erdogan.jpg

Katie Stevens made my jaw drop in this ultra leggy fringed dress from Zeynep Erdogan.

Priyanka-Chopra.jpg

On a separate note can we just marvel at how ridiculously stunning Priyanka Chopra’s makeup is? I’m not crazy on too much sparkle which is why I’ve not included her sequined dress but the updo really brings out her features…Then again it probably helps that she is pretty darn stunning already.

I’ll be doing a followup on some of these designers for sure so keep your eyes peeled for that. Who did you guys think nailed it in the fashion stakes?
