I bought an ice cream maker. I always liked the idea of making my own ice cream and sorbets as I often find myself tucking into a bowl of the cold stuff and wishing they’d added some chilli to a decadent chocolate or a little sea salt into a praline. Now I can make them as elaborate or as simple as I like! I have ambitions of perfecting a dairy free ice cream that I can eat guilt free. There’s one problem, I have no idea how to make ice cream. So I did a little internet snooping as usual and found some amazing looking recipes that I’m crazy eager to try and thought I’d share them with you guys.
Blueberry Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
Okay seriously how incredible does this look? I am definitely trying this one out and eventually will tweak the recipe to omit the higher fat ingredients. Click on the picture to go to P.S Heart blog for the recipe.
Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream
You don’t even need an ice cream maker for this one! And it’s weirdly low fat. Using the old bananas instead of cream trick, this manages to be delicious and good for you. Aren’t bananas magical? Click on the picture to be transported to The Gracious Pantry for many more clean eating delicacies.
Vegan Strawberry Ice Cream
I do believe the correct term is “nice cream” because it contains no animal products and is pretty darn nice. I can’t wait to make this one, it looks so simple. Head over to Bread & With It for the recipe by clicking the picture.
Maple Gelato
Another Autumnal favourite that I’m desperate to try. This look insanely good, I think I’d be adding in a few pecans or something to give it a bit of extra crunch. Check out Ezra Pound Cake for the recipe.
Blueberry Cheesecake Ice Cream
Cheesecake? Check. Blueberries? Check. Cold creamy goodness? Check. What’s not to love about this recipe. I’d be really keen to try and fashion a vegan alternative to this one, it would be a personal victory to master both cheesecake and icecream in one. Vanilla Peanut Butter Chunk
I like my ice creams like I like my women – with a bit of chunk in them. There’s nothing tastier than the smooth buttery texture of vanilla ice cream juxtaposed against the hard crunch of peanuts and dark chocolate chips. Take a wander over to Edible Perspective for the recipe.
I’ll stop now before I get too carried away and end up with 2182472384702394 batches of ice cream in my freezer with nobody to eat it but me (quelle horreur!) Of course I’ll keep you all updated on how I get on with my ice cream shenanigans and possibly even post a recipe of my own if all goes well.
That Maple Gelato, though! ❤
Hello, fellow foodie.
You just made me hungry all over again even though it's barely been an hour since I had lunch

Thanks Shamika! I’ll definitely check out your blog. I think it’s definitely worth trying some of these even if you haven’t got an ice cream maker – it’s all in the churn!
Keep an eye out for my results haha they could be quite comical. x
